Remote Play features can be used in concert! With a host PC running the game, additional players can even join while on the go for multiplayer fun. To join a game on your mobile device, accept your friend’s invite via the Steam Chat mobile app. The game will then launch in. Remote play only works with the dualshock directly connected to the PC, but you should have no problems getting the output over the Steam Link so long as the controller is connected via the PC. The PS4 controller works through walls so it might be fine. The Steam Link app brings desktop gaming to your Android device. Just pair a Bluetooth controller or Steam Controller to your device, connect to a computer running Steam on the same local network.
Steam Link and Raspberry Pi. Today, Steam Link is available as an app for smartphones and smart. Steam Remote Play Audio Support Steam supports streaming stereo (2 channel) audio from all streaming host operating systems to all streaming clients (including the Steam Link). Steam Clients running on Windows can also stream quadraphonic (4 channel) and 5.1 surround sound (6 channel) audio to all streaming clients.
Apex Legends is one of the biggest and most important games around right now. As one of the top battle royale games in the world — we’d argue that it is in the top three, for sure — it is a game that many players know about and enjoys playing as one of their constant games.

With the recent launch of Season 4, Apex Legends continues to grow bigger and bigger as time goes on. Players are enjoying the largest season of content yet, including major changes for the World’s Edge map, the new legend Revenant, and the release of the Sentinel sniper rifle.
But that’s just the start of Season 4. More is on the way in the future, including the return of the Kings Canyon permanently (we think), rumored releases of another new weapon, and changes to the overall metagame.
So many exciting things are happening in Apex Legends as it passes the one-year mark from its release. Players want to play the game in the way they want to. This includes mobile devices like iOS and Android.
Official Apex Legends Mobile Version Coming Eventually
Unfortunately, there is no Apex Legends mobile version officially out right now. If you look at Google Play or the App Store and see it, chances are it is fake, so be careful. Despite this, you can play the popular free-to-play battle royale game on mobile.
This is great because it is one of the biggest battle royale game around that doesn’t have an official mobile version for it. Fortnite is world-renowned for its open platforms where you can play anywhere on any device and have almost the same experience with the same account.
Even PUBG has a massively popular mobile version that, while somewhat different from its original form, is a tried-and-true take on the classic, hardcore battle royale experience. That mobile version of the game is even bigger than the original game on PC and consoles.
Even though Call of Duty is also one of the newer franchises to get in on the battle royale genre, it also has a mobile version that players can enjoy. Call of Duty Mobile is, in our opinion, one of the best mobile games out right now with a complete and groundbreaking battle royale experience.
With all of these available plus others like the numerous Roblox battle royale game modes on mobile, mobile-exclusive games, and more, there is a lot of battle royale to enjoy on iOS and Android. However, that doesn’t currently include Apex Legends mobile. Well, it does if you know what to do.
And that’s where we come in. We are going to let you know how to officially play Apex Legends on mobile without going for any weird, unofficial and possibly bogus games. Unfortunately, it does mean that you will have to own either a PS4, Xbox One, or PC device with one important exception that we think you’ll like.
After all, those are the platforms where the game is currently available for playing. Without further ado, though, let’s get started on how you can play this game on mobile right now.
How to Play Apex Legends Mobile: Xbox Console Streaming
We are going to kick things off by throwing a bone to our Xbox One friends out there. Perhaps you are a player on Xbox One who loves Apex Legends, or you simply own the console but want to play on mobile. Regardless of the reason, we’ve got your back on how you can do this.
The private testing for the Xbox XCloud system is going on right now with the eventual release of it to the public and worldwide. This is a new streaming system from Microsoft that allows the user to stream games directly to their mobile device in a legit way.
Currently, this system supports games like The Master Chief Collection, Forza Horizons 4, and so. Unfortunately, as XCloud is in the testing stages, Apex Legends isn’t one of the games that support it yet.
We imagine that it will be one of the first games to officially support it. We can understand why it isn’t. The huge online game could give players some issues. XCloud already has Halo for testing out online multiplayer anyways currently.
This is unfortunate. XCloud is one of the few platforms on this list that lets you play Apex Legends with only owning a mobile device. We are hopeful it comes eventually. In the meantime, not all hope is lost for those on Xbox One.
While the XCloud testing is going on, so is the Xbox Console Streaming service. Technically separate from each other, you can stream directly from your Xbox One rather than from the cloud. Essentially, if you own the game, you should be able to play it there.
That would, presumably, include Apex Legends. Just grab your Xbox One controller, hook it up to your mobile device. Currently, it is only available for limited Inside Xbox users. You can try to get in but, hopefully, it extends to the world in the future.
PlayStation Remote Play
PlayStation Remote Play is an extension of the original Remote Play feature on the PlayStation Vita handheld, which allows you to stream your PS4 to your mobile device.
Steam For Playstation
Available as a free download on Android and iOS, players can start playing Apex Legends mobile using a PS4 controller. Like some of the other methods, the catch with this one is that you must already own a PS4 or can borrow one.
The PS4 system must be left on. Remotely connect to it, stream it to the mobile screen, and control it from there. We have had success using this service to play Apex Legends mobile through our PS4 with a controller.
We highly recommend a very high internet connection, which could be a problem for some. You can virtually play anywhere with a good connection on your phone just as long as your PS4 is on.
We did this in the same room on the other side of the house. Even hotel rooms thousands of miles away from the actual PS4 that we are streaming from. The excellent service is not just for Apex Legends but other games we already own on the system with no mobile versions like Final Fantasy XIV.
Steam Link
With the two console platforms addressed, let’s go over the options for our PC friends. Fortunately for you, a lot of options are available to you on the computer. The first is the Steam-specific app: Steam Link.
Steam Link lets you stream your Steam games from your PC to your mobile device, much in the way of Remote Play and Xbox Console Streaming. It uses your existing PC to send the game to your phone. This might seem odd as you may already know that Apex Legends isn’t on Steam.
This is an EA-published game, so it is on the EA Origin service as a free download. Steam is an open platform that lets you add any game you want to your library, even if the game didn’t originally show up on the service.
You can download Apex Legends on EA Origin and add it to your Steam library. This is just like if you were entering a code for a game you want to download there. Once you see it in your library, you can access it on mobile through the Steam Link app.
Given the complicated nature of this setup, it is the least recommended way of doing this. Steam Link isn’t that great of a platform, to begin with. You must own a working PC that can run the game already before you can ever play it on mobile.
Nvidia GeForce Now
Steam Link Ps4 Remote Play Controller
Fortunately, there are a couple of final options available to stream to your mobile device from the PC version of Apex Legends. Nvidia GeForce Now is a relatively new contender in the space, offering streaming from the cloud.
The service does not require you to own a computer already, However, it does require that you own the games that you are trying to stream. This is no problem in the case of Apex Legends since it is a free game to download on the PC platform.
The GeForce Now service is still growing to add more games to its official lineup. It offers streaming already for Apex Legends, thankfully. This sounds excellent given that you don’t have to own a PC and can play the game in a safe, official, and good way. However, there is an issue.
Steam Link Vs Ps4 Remote Play
The service is only available on Android devices currently. If you are an iOS user, like on iPhone or iPad, you are going to have to wait a little bit longer to enjoy the Nvidia GeForce Now service on your mobile platform. Android users, though, should have no problem whatsoever.
In that case, you can just try it out and see if it works well for you. Hopefully, we get word of an official iOS version soon. This is a neat service for those who don’t own a PC or console currently and want to enjoy games like Apex Legends on mobile.
Shadow
With all of that said, we come to our fifth and final option on this list. The most open, easy, and best option, in our opinion. Why? This is the only one that lets you play Apex Legends on mobile without owning a console or PC.
Unlike Nvidia GeForce Now, both parties can join and enjoy Apex Legends on mobile with easy use of a PS4 or Xbox One controller, if you like. Shadow is truly one-of-a-kind service.
While the others take advantage of an already existing platform or proprietary UI, Shadow is just a computer. That’s it. You are paying each month to have your very own PC that you are renting from them in the cloud.
Steam For Ps4
It isn’t in your house taking up a whole lot of room. You don’t have to upgrade it, update it, and build it all on your own either. It is just a PC you stream from in the cloud to your mobile device. As such, it works like a normal computer would with a Microsoft Windows desktop and everything.
Steam Link Ps4 Remote Play Download
When you jump into the app, it will boot up your computer and you will see a desktop screen like you would on any other PC. You can do just about everything you could on a normal PC like do work, download Steam, EA Origin, and more.
This way, you can just download Origin, then Apex Legends, and enjoy that game as is. It is an excellent way to just stream the game with no extra frills thrown in there. We have tested this service ourselves. It works wonderful at playing hardcore games like Apex to even using emulators and the like.
Ps4 Steam App
The one downside to Shadow that other services on this list don’t have is the price. Unless you opt-in for the yearly subscription, which is tough since you haven’t had a chance to try it out for yourself yet, you are paying a pretty penny to rent your PC. It is a good value for the annual subscription, but the price and commitment can be a tough pill to swallow.
